I am in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Guiness Book: Red, White or Dead

As part of our 4th of July celebration, Natasha, Christian, and I joined a mass of other people in attending the Red, White or Dead event just a few blocks from Christian and Natasha's house. This was an attempt to beat the current Guinness Book of World Records number for the largest zombie walk...yes, you read that right...a zombie walk! First of all, let me say that zombies freak me out. I'd much rather hang with Frankenstein or Dracula than a brain eating zombie, so I wasn't sure how the event was going to be. But I wanted to be part of breaking a world record, at least once in my life:) The most up-to-date printed number for this record was 894 but the real record to beat was some 3,500 people.

We met up at C&N's to be 'zombified' and with thanks to Natasha's friends, who are theater folks, gashes and blood were pretty easy. We then walked down to be counted and register for the Guinness Book and were unbelievably surprised by the massive line to register! There ended up being 3,848 zombies making a new world record! We walked the neighborhood and wondered how those out for drinks and dinner felt about being surprised by thousands of zombies passing them by! It ended up not being creepy or gross at all, but so much fun! So fun that I couldn't make zombie faces, I was smiling too much at the hillarity of it all!

The zombie crowd then attempted to learn the 'Thriller' dance in honor of Michael Jackson's passing. It was quite the sight! It's a pretty complex set of steps! You can check out this Seattle PI link and you can see our group for just one second:
