Happy Henry is 11 months!!

On the eve of Henry's 11 month birthday he participated in his own triathlon! His first swim lesson, his first bike ride and then lots of crawling all day long!! So much fun! And the weather couldn't have been more perfect!

Henry is as happy as can be and loves to explore everything in a completely fearless way! He loves to throw the ball and go after it. He pulls himself up pretty well now but not quite standing. He is obsessed with our dog Syd and gives him pats very well ('Give Syd high fives')  but also likes to tug on the tail and floppy ears. He has a little tooth on the bottom that has surfaced but isn't fully visible, his first one.

Henry is signed up for a bunch of stuff this fall so we're busy and he loves it!

Check out our baby who is nearly one year old!

Can we get a 1-OH!?

Henry is 10 months! We had another great month which started off with time in Seattle with his cousins. His big cousin Eli (4 years old) took a particular liking to him and wanted to do everything with Henry--play, watch cartoons, read. Henry would pretty much just eat the toys no matter what they were doing. While hanging with his cousins Henry took his first paddle boat ride and his first dip in a lake. He also saw his 3 Uncles, his 2 Aunts and his Grandma!

Henry has spent long summer just enjoying summer things: swings and more swings, wadding pools, splash parks, sweet corn, melons of all kinds.

We are excited to report that he now crawls!! He first crawled to try to get into the kitchen cabinet, even though he has been able to get into the cabinets for some time. Then he crawled to pet or pull on Syd. But the I phone is a very encouraging target! He certainly gets into a lot more mischief now and gets a lot dirtier in the yard. But it's fun!

He babbles away. Sometimes screams now. He likes to put things over his head even if it means dumping bath water all over his face. He still loves music and clapping. He also loves hanging with his little buddies.

Check out some pics of our little 10 month old.

9 months, oh my!

I can't even keep track of all the things we did in July! Henry and I had a visit from 2 very special ladies, Jenny and Margaret! We hung out in Montreal and enjoyed the splash pad, Old Montreal and the Jazz fest. It was great to have them here while Matt was still away in Kenya.

Matt returned from Kenya for one night...yes, you read that right, one night. The next day we all flew to London! Matt was invited to speak at a conference and we couldn't pass up the opportunity! For him, it was great for his career and for us, it was great to see friends! Montreal really is in between our two homes: Seattle and the UK. It was a wonderful and hot visit! We saw all of our old buddies and were so happy they were able to meet Henry. Check out London pictures here!

Then just a few days after we returned, Grandpa and Grandma Harsh came to visit for a few days. They brought lots of fun goodies! And we set off to the Pacific Northwest just a few days later. We went to Alaska for my best friend from high school's wedding. And then we stayed in Seattle for a week to see family.

It was so much summer fun! We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful friends in such wonderful places! Although, we wish they were all right here with us!

Henry was a wonderful traveler and makes many friends everywhere he goes. He is quite the extravert and is super smiley. He is now basically crawling, certainly scooting and getting around a bit. Clapping, waving, cackling, clicking his tongue are also part of his daily activities. We love spending time with him as he is still just the happiest baby!

See some pics of him here (and some wedding pics too)

8 months for Henry Innis

Henry is 8 months old today!
You'll notice there are a ton of photos of him this month. This is because Matt has been away for almost the entire month so I've been taking a lot of pictures and videos and sending them to him. Matt spent 2 weeks in Washington DC and has now been in Kenya for a week and a half with another week to go. I am not sure how many summer trips to Kenya this has been for Matt but it has to be somewhere around 10!

So it was just me and the boys, Henry and Syd! We kept ourselves busy as you'll see by the pictures. We welcomed summer, although it took awhile to get here. We hiked Mt St Hillaire with our friends Zach, Celeste and little Rose. We took many, many walks with Syd as he still gets walked 2 times a day even without Matt around. Matt was back for a few days in between his trips so we were able to go to the Folk Festival together which was right in our backyard. And we also celebrated Fathers Day together with some amazing doughnuts. And were so excited to see Aunt Meg all the way from Albuquerque!! She also crossed paths with Matt and was able to give Matt and I a date night!! And we  saw a Dale Chihuly exhibit. We visited the library many times and are making new mama and baby friends.

Henry still loves to clap. He also likes to play peek-a-boo with a plate, a blanket, whatever. He likes to turn pages in his books. He loves to hang with Syd. He loves the swings. He loves food and is basically eating 3 times a day and also eating pretty much everything you can imagine.  He now babbles and moves his mouth in new, silly ways. He's definitely getting close to moving although he face plants most of the time. And he has a little tooth surfacing but it's very stubborn.

Thanks for checking in on Henry! Happy Summer!

What a wonderful 7th month!!

Henry and his parents had quite the 7th month!!
It started out in LA with the Silk family reunion! Many fun days seeing aunts, uncles, cousins, playing at the beach, sleeping/strolling on the board walk, and meeting Nick and Dave.

Henry also got in his first hike near Mt Sutton. He ate his first food of sweet potatoes, although he prefers pears. He also had his first rides on the swing. And he started to clap his hands!

I had my first Mother's Day which was lovely, thanks to my sweet brown eyed boys.

We were also visited by many lovely and very missed people: Kiren & Miriam, Grandma & Grandpa, and Uncle Christian, Aunt Natasha and cousin Mila! What a wonderful May!! We can't wait to see what the summer brings!

Henry at 5 months

Henry is now 5 months! This month Henry rolled by himself once and rolls all the time with a little help from Mama or Papa. You can feel a few teeth starting to come in. And he is in love with sitting up. He loves showing off his core strength by pulling up as you grab his hands. He continues to love tummy time and may earn the title of tummy champion of the East. He spent time a lot of time with older kids including Matt's colleagues kids, Hera and Davos, and our friend Jess's girls. We're pretty sure he prefers their company to ours. We visited the Montreal Biodome with our friend Jess and her 2 girls, Kaitlyn and Holly. Kaitlyn sang him songs everyday which he loved. He celebrated spring with a St Patrick's Day party and Easter with Grandma and Grandpa Harsh. He also visited a few cabana de sucres (sugar shacks) which are a Montreal mainstay. Although it snowed 12 inches on the first day of spring, we were able to have a picnic lunch on a cool Easter day. Henry's parents had their first date without Henry in tow, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa. He loves to be part of the party and prefers to be awake at all hours rather than sleeping.  Up next for Henry is food! And a visit to Los Angeles-stay tuned:)
